About the Instructor: Ruth Anne’s journey began in Huntsville, AL, where she spent her entire life until her “retirement” to the enchanting Appalachian mountains in 2013. In 2014, she and her husband, Brad, established Two Roots Alpacas, a thriving venture nestled on their 130-acre farm in East Tennessee.
Their picturesque farm is a haven for a cherished herd of over 50 huacaya alpacas, each one enjoying a life of luxury. Ruth Anne is a dynamic force in the alpaca community, actively contributing as a member of AOA and currently serving as the president of the Tennessee Alpaca Association.
A passionate mentor, Ruth Anne finds joy in guiding both new and experienced alpaca owners. Her mentorship covers a spectrum of topics, including industry trends, healthcare, handling skills, product and business development, fiber sorting and grading, and the intricacies of fiber processing.
Beyond their day-to-day operations, Ruth Anne and her team open the doors of Two Roots Alpacas to the community through school and adult field trips, workshops, farm tours, and engaging Adult Leadership presentations.
Her love for the alpaca industry and its sense of community is evident in her active involvement, and she is excited to continue being a vital part of its growth. Ruth Anne’s dedication, combined with her wealth of knowledge, makes her a valuable asset and an inspiring presence in the ever-evolving world of alpaca farming.
