Making a Sweater that Fits

$70.00

Instructor: Katie Clark

Time of Class: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025

Whether you knit or crochet, the process for getting the right fit in a garment is the same. We will start by reviewing basic concepts of sweater fit and design such as gauge and ease. Next, we will learn how to take personal measurements and how to choose the right size to follow in a basic pattern. Bring your own pattern or choose one from the materials list, and I can give specific advice on sizing, swatching, and ease so you can begin your sweater with confidence!

If you would like to be measured in class, please wear a close fitting tank with good support garments.

Be sure to scroll down and read complete class details and requirements before registering for this class.

About the Instructor: Katie Clark has been crocheting and knitting for 30 years. For many years, she taught friends and family and anyone who would sit still long enough how to stitch. It finally occurred to her in 2009 to teach professionally and began offering classes at her LYS in Jackson, Mississippi and the Bill Waller Craft Center in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She now teaches regionally and writes patterns which are available at KatieClarkCrochet.com. She is a proud member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi and the Chimneyville Weavers and Spinners Guild. She lives in Madison, Mississippi with her husband, daughter, three cats and a dachshund, and a ridiculous stash of yarn.
