How to Knit Socks: Magic Loop THURSDAY

Everyone should have a pair of hand knit socks. Learn how to knit your own using the magic loop method! In this course, students will make a cuff-down DK weight sock ornament while they practice the different techniques required to tackle a larger sock project. Techniques include: Casting on, Ribbing, Slip Stitch heel flap, Short Rows, Gusset Decreases, and Toe Decreases. Toe-up sock knitting will be discussed, but not practiced in class.

Skill Level: No prior knowledge or experience required.

Age Requirements: Ages 10 and up. Children ages 10 and 11 MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Supplies to Bring:20 grams of DK weight yarn and size US 3 circular needles with a 32″ cord are required.

About the Instructor: Crystallina is the owner of The Knitty Vampire, a hand-dyed yarn company based out of North Alabama. She learned how to crochet in 2012 and taught herself how to knit in 2018. Her favorite item to make? Socks! With a strong belief that everyone should experience the joy of wearing hand-knit socks, Crystallina developed her How to Knit Socks: Magic Loop course to make it easy for knitters to learn how to make their own.
