Beginning Pin Loom Weaving

Pin loom weaving is an easy, fun, quick, very portable craft that uses only 8-9 yards of yarn per 4″ square. In this class you will learn how to weave a basic square on a 4″ Zoom Loom as well as how to read patterns to make any number of squares with interesting textures. Students should be able to complete 2 to 3 squares during class.

Time of Class: 9:00 am to noon on Saturday

Skill Level: Suitable for absolute beginners with no prior weaving experience. You must have good vision and finger dexterity.

Materials Fee: $0 — Teacher will provide Zoom Loom, yarn, and instruction booklet for use during class.

Age Requirements: Minimum student age is 13 years old.

Other Information: Zoom Looms will be available for purchase in the SPARKLE Studio booth for $45 after class.

Possible Uses for Woven Squares:

  • 1-square mug rug
  • 2-square sachet or ornament
  • 8-16 square pouch or bag
  • With more squares, you can make scarves, tote bags, hand bags, sweaters, vests, ponchos, hats, and more
  • Many free ornament project patterns are available on the Schacht Spindle Company website.
